INCHES OF SNOW IN PARTS OF CHICAGO ON SUNDAY, MAKING ROADS SLUSHY AND UNSAFE FOR DRIVING. MORE THAN ONE THOUSAND FLIGHTS WERE CANCELED. THIS IS THE AREA’S BIGGEST SNOWSTORM THIS LATE IN THE SEASON. THE ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN THAT WE SAW TAKE HOLD OF THE DEEP SOUTH OVER THE LAST SEVERAL DAYS TAKES A BREAK STARTING TODAY AS COOLER THAN AVERAGE TEMPERATURES TAKE OVER. AFTER A COOL AND BREEZY START, TEMPERATURES STAY COOL WITH LIGHTER WIND AND A LOT OF SUNSHINE THIS AFTERNOON. HIGHS WILL RISE TO THE MID AND UPPER 60S WITH A FEW SPOTS HITTING THE 70 DEGREE MARK. IT WON’T STAY COOL FOR LONG AS TEMPERATURES WARM BACK UP INTO THE UPPER 70S AND NEAR 80 FOR BOTH TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. SUNSHINE WILL DOMINATE THE REGION AS HIGH PRESSURE STAYS IN CONTROL ACROSS THE DEEP SOUTH. BY WEDNESDAY NIGHT, HIGH PRESSURE SLIDES EAST AND MOISTURE STREAMS INTO CENTRAL ALABAMA AHEAD OF OUR NEXT WEATHE MAKER. THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE BACK IN THE FORECAST FOR CENTRAL ALABAMA. RIGHT NOW, A CHANCE OF SEVERE STORMS LOOKS POSSIBLE ON THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY. THERE IS STILL SOME UNCERTAINTY WITH THIS FORECAST, BUT OBVIOUSLY IT’S SOMETHING WE WILL WATCH CLOSELY AS WE APPROACH THE END OF THE WEEK. AND A SPECIAL GOOD AFTERNOON TO OUR CBS 42 NEWS AT NOON LUNCH BUNCH WINNER FLORENCE BENNETT OF MIDFIELD. CONGRATS. YOU’VE WON A FREE LUNCH FROM TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE IN
