IN NORTH CAROLINA. >>AND OUR CHIEF METEOROLOGIST CHRIS HOLMAN CONTINUES TO TRACK THE STORM. HE HAS SOME OF THOSE ANSWERS. DORIAN IS MOVING STEADILY AT THIS HOUR. >>IT IS. >>>IT IS GOING TO SLOW DOWN. THAT IS THE BAD NEWS FOR FOLKS. IT IS A CATEGORY THREE NOW AND NO REASON TO BELIEVE IT WON’T BE A FOUR AS IT MOVES ACROSS THE ATLANTIC TO THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS. WE’LL GET A NEW ADVISORY AT 5:00 FROM THE HURRICANE CENTER. CATEGORY THREE STORM MOVING NORTHWEST AT 10. FORECAST TRACK HASN’T CHANGED MUCH. IT IS JUST SLOWER THAN IT WAS YESTERDAY AND CONVENIENT THIS MORNING. NOT MAKING LANDFALL UNTIL SOMETIME MONDAY EVENING AND TUESDAY MORNING AS A CATEGORY FOUR HURRICANE ON THE SOUTHEAST FLORIDA COAST. IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE IT MAKES THAT NORTH TURN, THOUGH, BEFORE IT ACTUALLY MAKE AS COMPLETE LANDFALL. THAT IS ON THE TABLE, TOO. AND IT COULD EATSLY GO ACROSS — EASILY GO ACROSS THE STATE. ALTHOUGH THAT SCENARIO LOOKS LESS AND LESS LIKELY. IF IT IS INLAND, LIT WEAKEN AND BY WEDNESDAY MORNING. NOTICE EVEN BY WEDNESDAY IT IS STILL DOWN IN CENTRAL FLORIDA NEAR ORLANDO. THESE ARE THE COMPUTER MODELS AND THE SHIFT HAS BEEN MORE TO THE EAST A LITTLE BIT. THIS IS THE HURRICANE CENTER FORECAST. THESE ARE ALL OF THE DIFFERENT COMPUTER MODELS A LITTLE BIT NORTH AND EAST, SO I WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED IF THE HURRICANE CENTER IN THEIR 5:00 ADVISORY NUDGES THAT LINE A LITTLE CLOSER TO THE COAST. I DON’T THINK THEY’RE GOING TO TAKE IT ALL THE WAY OFF. AND THEN TAKING IT NORTHEASTWARD AND OFF OF OUR COAST POTENTIALLY BY THE END OF NEXT WEEK. IF WE SEE ANY IMPACT HERE, IT IS NOT GOING TO BE UNTIL LATE NEXT WEEK. LATE THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY. ALL HINGING ON HIGH PRESSURE. RIGHT NOW THIS AREA OF HIGH PRESSURE STRETCHES FROM THE DEEP SOUTH INTO THE ATLANTIC STIRRING — STEERING THE HURRICANE TOWARDS THE WEST OR WILL TOWARDS THE WEST. THAT WILL BREAK INTO TWO DIFFERENT HIGHS. THAT WILL OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE STORM IN WHATEVER SHAPE IT IS IN TO MOVE NORTHWARD. IT IS GOING TO TURN NORTH, IT IS JUST WHERE DOES IT DO IT? IT DOESN’T MEAN IT IS GOING TO BE A DEVASTATING HURRICANE WHEN IT DOES THAT. WE’LL GET SOME WIND AND SOME RAIN. THERE IS EVEN A CHANCE IT GOES FAR ENOUGH OFFSHORE THERE IS HARDLY ANY IMPACT AT ALL. IT IS WAY TOO SOO
