POISON CONTROL. FROM LAKE HOPATCONG IN NEW JERSEY, ALI BAUMAN, CBS 2 NEWS. LET’S GET TO YOUR FORECAST NOW WITH JOHN MARSHALL TRACKING SOME STORMS RIGHT NOW LIKE ON-AND-OFF RAIN. THAT’S WHAT THE TERMINOLOGY IS, ON-AND-OFF SHOWERS THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS, LOCAL DOWNPOURS, NOTHING TOO SIGNIFICANT AS OF YET. BUT THAT COULD CHANGE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. ONE THING THAT CHANGED FOR SURE, THE PICTURE OUTSIDE. YESTERDAY SUNNY, NOW HAZY SKIES AND THE HUMIDITY IS VERY, VERY HIGH. OUR WEATHER WATCHERS THIS AFTERNOON ARE TELLING US, HEY, IT’S IN THE 70s THROUGHOUT MOST OF THE TRI-STATE AREA. AS WE CAN SEE RIGHT HERE, WE ARE GOING UP TO PORTION OF NORTHEASTERN NEW JERSEY AS WE CAN SEE RIGHT HERE. CATHY REPORTED 31 MINUTES AGO 78 DEGREES WITH RAIN FALLING IN NEW MILFORD, BEAUTIFUL AREA IN NEW JERSEY. SHE SAYS IT FEELS LIKE YOU’RE WEARING A WET BLANKET OUTSIDE WITH THE HUMIDITY. IT DOES. OUTSIDE NOW, A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN ON THE LENS THERE. THE CURRENT READING IN CENTRAL PARK, 77. CALM WINDS, HIGH HUMIDITY UP TO 95%. YOU WILL NEED THE AIR- CONDITIONING THIS AFTERNOON OBVIOUSLY. TEMPERATURES ARE ALL BUNCHED UP IN THE 70s EXCEPT THE MOUNTAINS. IF WE’RE LUCKY WE’LL HIT 80 DEGREES. WE’LL STAY IN THE UPPER 70s TO 80. AVERAGE HIGH IS 83. RECORDS WILL REMAIN FOR ANOTHER YEAR. SUNSET IS AT 7:57. POLLEN REPORT. MOLD VERY HIGH. WEEDS MODERATE. HIGH LEVELS CHANCES OF RAIN, 90%. IT’S ALREADY HAPPENING ON AND OFF. 30% ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, NEAR ZERO FOR SATURDAY. THE RADAR PICTURE SHOWS A NUISANCE — NOT ME, THE RAIN. IT COMES AND GO, THE UMBRELLAS ARE UP, WINDSHIELD WIPERS ARE ON. NOTHING TOO SIGNIFICANT RIGHT NOW. THE HEAVIEST SHOWERS AND THUNDER LOOK TO BE TAKING SHAPE OVER EASTERN LONG ISLAND THROUGH COASTAL NEW JERSEY. BUT THERE’S MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM. WE ARE GOING TO WATCH THIS SYSTEM OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. THE THREAT OF SEVERE WEATHER SHIFTED SIGNIFICANTLY TO THE SOUTH DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE HAVE CLOUD COVER AND THE UNSTABLE AIR IS SOUTH AND EAST OF NEW YORK CITY. SO THE SEVERE LIMIT IS LOW. MUGGY SHOWERS AND STORMS ON AND OFF TODAY. FLASH FLOODING SOUTH OF THE CITY AND EAST LONG ISLAND. LEFTOVER SHOWERS TOMORROW. COOLER THURSDAY WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 70s WITH A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS. IT WILL NOT BE RAINING ALL THE TIME FOR YOUR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY, JUST LEFTOVER SHOWERS WITH CLOUDS AND SUN. TEMPERATURES WITHIN A FEW DEGREES OF 80. FRIDAY LOOKS LIKE A GEM, 80 DEGREES AND RIGHT NOW, COULD IT BE ANOTHER WEEKEND THAT WILL BE NICE? WE’RE GOING FOR IT. TEMPERATURES IN THE MID-80s
