see whether their peers Rob’s forecast welcome back well the heat and humidity are on and they’re going to stay on for a couple of more days in fact it gets a little bit hotter toward the weekend but humidity may come down just a nudge and that could make a little bit of a difference breezy southeasterly winds continue but not as gusty as they have been the last couple of days but at least a little ventilation coming in and all that breeze feeding storms to the north more on that in just a bit but first off why not be a turtle today I embrace the sunshine the heat and get some Sun Darius Johnson getting this shot out at vermilion ville this afternoon and those turtles are checking things out put their heads up like that I bet you they’re looking for a little food maybe coming near by but certainly enjoying the day and warming up nicely in that hot May Sun so let’s take a look at the image of the day just downloaded this coming from Oklahoma this is the eastern Oklahoma look at this intense supercell thunderstorm showing up you can see the shadowing this is often that goes new mesoscale sectors I just posted this on social media so you can get the link and look at it on your computer yourself it doesn’t work well on phones but it really looks awesome on computers especially if you have a 4k monitor really pretty cool stuff unfortunately severe weather with this cell will show you a little bit more about that coming up in just a bit you can see where the severe weather or the severe weather threat will be in the nation’s heartland once again they have not caught a break this spring between snowstorms floods now severe weather it continues and back to the west the upper level brought upper-level trough back here continues to produce snow from California Nevada Utah Wyoming into Montana also Colorado so snow at elevation and then farther to the east all this severe weather with the threat of flooding and severe storms and late this afternoon most of the severe thunderstorms the severe thunderstorm warnings and the tornado warnings are in around the Tulsa area a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings off to the north and tornado warnings as well and this one cell that’s just north of Boynton that’s the cell that we just showed you on that high resolution of visible satellite imagery showing rotation possibility of not only producing a tornado but up Tenace maybe baseball-sized hail with that cell as it races off to the north and east meanwhile we continue to have a nice breeze that’s feeding all that weather to the north not as breezy as it has been tides have come down to about one foot above normal along the coast but that’s where they’re going to stay it looks like over the next several days perhaps coming down a little bit more so as we get into the weekend but I do think we’ll see elevated tides along the coast as long as we continue to have severe weather well to the north of us and high pressure off to the east and you’ll see that in the forecast in just a minute temperature-wise got up to officially 89 and Lafayette lower 90s in Baton Rouge most of us mid 80s right now conditions offshore chopping to rough out here small craft should exercise caution and it stays on the choppy side for a while and choppy inland during the afternoon hours as well so overnight tonight through tomorrow morning clouds piling back in and then as we move ahead into your Thursday afternoon we’ll see more sunshine in the afternoon versus today so I think we get hotter than some of the the forecast data that we show you rain chances are very slim to none 5% for tomorrow and much the same as we head into Thursday as well morning Friday rather as well morning clouds but more afternoon Sun so it gradually gets hotter going into the weekend and then as we look at the European model high pressure begins to Bank in from the east so that’s going to set up mostly sunny days and hot days for Saturday Sunday and Monday as well temperature-wise tonight it’s gonna be another warm and humid one mid to upper 70s your low then for tomorrow back into the upper 80s I think we’ll go with about 91 for the high for tomorrow mid 70s tomorrow night maybe a few degrees cooler but 70s is really not that cool and then going into Friday upper 80s lower 90s once again and we’re whipping out that old heat index chart this I hadn’t looked at the date on this I hadn’t used this in September 20th but it is that time of year get used to these charts the least upper 90s now but in the height of the summer heat we’re always pushing 105 to 110 so uncomfortable yes but not blazing hot quite yet nice evening ahead though warm and humid little breeze helps out there 76 the low 92 91 the high tomorrow he did the Seas 96 to 98 in the afternoon still a breeze out there but not as gusty as today so that helps but less and less of a breeze and then as we get into the weekend look at these numbers 92 to 93 Saturday through next Tuesday could see the door open for a few more showers by the mid to latter part of next week but that is purely conjecture at this point and perhaps long-range models hinting at maybe a very weak front in about 12 to 13 days but you’ve heard me say that 12 to 13 days good job too reliable yeah could turn out to be three to four months yeah and weak front to we know how that great thanks Rob
