(DEITRA) AFTER A QUIET WEEKEND, WE CAN GET READY FOR WARMER WEATHER AND MORE RAIN. HOWEVER, TODAY’S TEMPS TOPPED OUT NEAR 60 DEGREES FOR THE COAST…AND A BIT WARMER INLAND. TONIGHT: LOWS WILL FALL INTO THE MID 40S. WIND: SSE 5-10MPH MONDAY: INCREASING CLOUDS WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS AFTER 9PM. WARM WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW 70S. WIND: SE 10-20MPH. TUESDAY: SHOWERS AND STORMS POSSIBLE BEFORE SUNRISE…THEN IMPROVING WEATHER. HOT WITH HIGHS AROUND 80 DEGREES. WE HAD A QUIET WEEKEND WHICH WAS COOPERATIVE FOR ALL OF THE CLEAN-UP EFFORTS IN AREAS HIT BY FRIDAY’S TORNADOES. MONDAY, A WARM FRONT WILL LIFT NORTH AND SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL HELP IN WARMING TEMPS UP TO NEAR 70 DEGREES. LATE MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING, THERE WILL BE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS THAT’LL ROLL INTO OUR AREA. THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK (THE LOWEST LEVEL OUT OF 5 LEVELS OF RISK) FOR SEVERE STORMS EARLY TUESDAY MORNING. MAIN RISKS LOOK TO BE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS, BUT WE’LL BE MONITORING RAIN ENDS BY MIDDAY…AND TEMPS SOAR TO NEAR 80 DEGREES BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. A COLD FRONT CROSSES TUESDAY NIGHT…LEADING TO COOLER WEATHER FOR MID-WEEK. ANOTHER SYSTEM IMPACTS OUR AREA THURSDAY THRU SATURDAY MORNING…AFFILIATED WITH A BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE (AND UPPER LEVEL LOW) THAT’LL MEANDER OVER OUR REGION A FEW DAYS. THURSDAY COULD BRING THE WORST OF THE WEATHER OUT OF THE THREE DAYS… STAY TUNED. EXPECT COOL AND SEASONABLE 60S FOR NEXT WEEKEND. HIGHS ON MONDAY: WAKEFIELD 72 DEGREES… CHESAPEAKE 70 FRANKLIN 72 WILLIAMSBURG 74 HAMPTON 69 MELFA 65 VIRGINIA BEACH 70 NORFOLK 71 NEWPORT NEWS 71 SUFFOLK 70 WALLOPS ISLAND 61
